Salvador Dali began a new genre in art, especially sculpture, by combining a telephone with a lobster. The sculpture was painted white and the combination of two disparate entities became all the rage. I am working in this tradition in my illustrations of birds who are combined with things which belong elsewhere, such as the kitchen.
